Does this scare the crap out of anybody else??

Just remember, these people hold the power over what you're children will learn in Texas public schools.

Yeah, this is terrifying. I won't be surprised if within the next 50 years or so (assuming Yellowstone doesn't blow up) that this develops into a cold war between the religious fundamentalist and everybody else which will cause a major political/economical division within the US.

We're doomed!

Agreed...the pendulum swings to the extremes. In this case it is swinging toward christian fundamentalist extremism. The hope is it will eventually swing back. The fear I have is that it will stifle scientific and technical innovation in the US which will be hard to recover from. This similar type of extremism has stifled the muslim world for centuries. They had wonderful scientific minds and discoveries up until around the 1200's when religious extremism took over. Since then, they've been virtually silent on scientific discoveries.
